Can't Log In?

If you're having trouble loggin into Heycuz, it is because the software has changed and signing onto the front area has been turned off. Currently, you can only log in to the database area as pictured below:

 

You Must Use the Log In Form under Our Families

 

  1. Click on "OUR FAMILIES"
  2. Click on "LOG IN"
  3. Enter your previous username and password (It is case sensitive)
  4. Click the Login button

 

Note: if you need to reset your password you much know both your email address and user name and you will be sent a temporary password.

Updating Website

You may have noticed a few changes to the website.

If you logged in yesterday, you may have noticed that there was a lag in loading pages and adding information. I was trying to do some much needed updates. I was only partly successful. This site is made up of little applets many of which have major upgrades. I was able to upgrade the registration/membership extension. In addition to providing a stronger security and connection system, now you can use your Facebook or Twitter accounts to log into the site. You can also get notification of updates with either of those social media sites depending on how you set it up in your profile.

If you think the front page looks different, you're right. That was another extension that I had to update. It was a major upgrade and looks completely different but looks like it makes it a lot more easy for you to use the blogging feature. Feel free to share your research or genealogy questions, or just log in to share your thoughts.

There's another major upgrade that has to be made but I'm wringing my hands over it. It's the photo gallery component. The reason I've not done it, is I installed a trial run on my own computer and it seems to loose the photos. Not deleting them, it just "forgets" where the photos were. Trying to relink the hundreds of photos on the site would take much too long so I've written the developer to see if there's a solution for this.

The last update is to the main component of this site: the genealogical database. This update has not been made. The problem is there are two aspects to this software. The part that controls the family tree has had a major version update. The part that connects the software to the site has not been released. This part is necessary to allow members to login and make their corrections and additions. So it's important that I get this extension before making the upgrade. The developers have said they are "working on it" for over six months now. In February they said it will be available any time. When it does come out, I will make the changes as soon as I can.
