The Heycuz Story

Print | Email | Hits: 738

It's hard to believe that Heycuz is in its 12th year. On December 12, 1998, a group of genealogists came together to exchange information on their family trees, histories, and research. Back then, we saw many inconsistencies in our lines and wanted to get on the same page. So we started an email newsgroup open to anyone who we could call cousin.

We quickly learned that we are all related.

Over the past ten years, we have uncovered new generations, found hundreds of cousins from all around the world, and developed lasting relationships, but we are always looking for more cousins.

How Do You Relate?

Are you part of this family? Did you find an ancestor in The Family Tree on this site? If so you might want to join us.There are two parts to heycuz. The first part is our email newsgroup that it hosted by Yahoo Groups.
We send emails to each other on a variety of topics. They include:
• New genealogical information
• New books, sources on our family
• Family memories
• Jokes
• Personal messages
This is a great way to get to know your cousins better and exchange information. There is no fee to join. To participate, subscribe through Yahoo Groups.

The second part of Heycuz is this website. As a member, you are able to view and edit information that you won't see as just a visiting guests. While you can still use the site without registering, you're missing out on a lot of features. To join, click on the Register link on the left. For more information see our Frequently Asked Questions.

Thanks for the Suggestions

Print | Email | Hits: 1558

I have been getting a lot of Suggested Corrections on the Family Tree. In some ways, that's good. I appreciate the fact that we need to keep our information as accurate as possible. On the other hand, these Suggestions are unnecessary. If you are Registered--which is free--you then have the ability to make the corrections yourself.

Since I work and am only able to make corrections in the evenings and weekends, it would help a lot if visitors could make their own corrections by becoming Registered Members of Heycuz. If you find yourself making more than 10 suggestions, please register for Heycuz. It's fast, free, and easy to register. Members' email information is kept private, so there is no need to worry about spam.

Once you are registered and logged in, the Suggest link turns into an Edit link. Click on it to make your corrections, hit save and you're done. Thanks for understanding.
